IPL 2022,KL Rahul: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Lokesh Rahul said after their 18-run loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) that their bowlers allowed the opposition to score 15 to 20 runs more despite a good start.

Lucknow lost to Bangalore

The Royal Challengers Bangalore team, recovering from a poor start with 96 runs from captain and opener Faf du Plessis, scored 181 for 6, in response to which the Lucknow team Josh Hazlewood (4 for 25) bowled sharply. The front could only make 163 runs for eight wickets. Harshal Patel took two for 47 while Glenn Maxwell took one wicket for 11 runs. Shahbaz Ahmed gave only 25 runs in four overs while bowling economical. Krunal Pandya scored 42 runs for Lucknow.

KL Rahul furious after Lucknow’s defeat

After the match, Rahul said, ‘I think we started well with two wickets in the first over, but then let us score 50 runs (47 runs) in the powerplay, we should have done better. I think for 180 runs (181 runs) on this pitch, we gave them 15 or 20 extra runs.

Rahul told why the match got out of hand

Rahul said, ‘The pitch was not easy to bat. We got the early wickets that we were looking for but we could not build up the pressure in the middle overs. Rahul said that he needed a big partnership while chasing the target. He said, ‘We needed a big partnership, we saw what Faf did for RCB. I think we needed a big innings from one of the top three or four batsmen.
