Mumbai. Mumbai Indians have signed left-arm spinner Kumar Kartikeya Singh in place of injured fast bowler Mohammad Arshad Khan for the remainder of the Indian Premier League season. Left-arm spinner Kumar Karthikeya Singh will join Mumbai Indians for a base price of Rs 20 lakh, the Indian Premier League said in a release on Thursday. Kumar Karthikeya Singh, who represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket, has played 9 First Class, 19 List-A and 8 T20 matches so far in which he has taken 35, 18 and 9 wickets respectively.
Kumar Karthikay Singh was with Mumbai Indians as a support team. After losing 8 matches in a row, Mumbai’s team is out of the race to make it to the playoffs. The Rohit Sharma-led team will play their next match against Rajasthan Royals on April 30 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Even in IPL 2021, Mumbai’s team could not perform well and failed to make it to the playoffs.
Failed from Bumrah to Rohit
The team of Mumbai Indians had failed to connect the big players to the team in the mega auction. The team had made a bid of Rs 15.25 crore on Ishan Kishan. He scored 2 half-centuries in the first 2 matches, but after that he has failed miserably so far. Captain Rohit Sharma has also failed to perform well and has not been able to score a single half-century so far. Jasprit Bumrah was always instrumental in the team’s victory, but he too is not looking in form in the current season.
Talking about the history of IPL, Mumbai Indians is the most successful team. He has won the title 5 times. But the team has given the worst performance in IPL history in the current season. Apart from this, the defending champion Chennai Super Kings has also failed to perform well. The new captain Ravindra Jadeja has not been able to make an impact so far.
