Cricket sometimes gets very brutal and a view of this was seen during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday. KKR batsman Rinku Singh hit 40 runs in 15 balls, during which he hit two fours and four sixes. In the last over, KKR needed 21 runs to win and only three runs were needed from the last two balls. Rinku had scored 18 runs in the first four balls and KKR’s team had reached the door of victory, but then on the fifth ball, Rinku’s shot went into the air and Evin Lewis took the catch in Superman style. The biggest turning point of this match was this catch and as soon as Rinku was dismissed, KKR’s victory started looking difficult. On the last ball, Marcus Stoinis dismissed Umesh Yadav to take Lucknow Super Giants to the playoffs.
After this defeat, the face of the entire KKR team was hanging, but the most disappointed Rinku Singh was seen. Seeing the pictures of Rinku being shared on social media after the match, it seems that he could not hold back his tears after the loss. Rinku was not being included in the playing XI in the initial matches but when he got the opportunity, he proved himself. For KKR, Rinku impressed with his shots in the pressure matches.
Rinku Singh has played seven matches in the current IPL season, during which he has scored a total of 174 runs at an average of 34.80 and a strike rate of 148.71. Rinku has hit 17 fours and seven sixes in this season so far.
