IPL 2022 Tristan Stubbs to replace Tymal Mills in Mumbai Indians squad

IPL 2022 News: Mumbai Indians, who have been out of the race for the IPL 2022 playoffs, have suffered another major setback. Team’s fast bowler Tymal Mills has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. The franchise has included South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs in the squad for the remainder of the season. Mills took only 6 wickets in 5 matches he played for Mumbai this season.

According to a Mumbai Indians press release “Mumbai Indians have signed Tristan Stubbs of South Africa as a replacement for Tymal Mills, Mills is injured and out of the rest of the IPL.”

He further wrote, “This 21-year-old talented middle-order batsman recently made his debut for the national South African A team against Zimbabwe. Tristan has had a very promising domestic season and has been in the recently concluded T20 domestic league. He has played an important role for his team.”

Stubbs has played 17 T20Is and scored 506 runs with three half-centuries at a strike rate of 157.14. As per the IPL press release, Stubbs will join MI at a price of INR 20 Lakhs. Mills was bought by Mumbai for Rs 1.50 crore.
