The first match of the prestigious tournament will be played between last year’s winner Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, who have won the title four times, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In this match, when the captains of both the teams enter the field, all eyes will be on them.
Actually, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni (MS Dhoni) leading Chennai are very close to a special record. Pandya is just 37 runs away from scoring 2000 runs in IPL. Whereas Dhoni is standing 22 runs away from scoring 5000 runs in IPL. Mahi will become the seventh batsman to score 5000 runs in IPL as soon as he scores 22 runs.

IPL career of Pandya and Dhoni:
Hardik Pandya has scored 1963 runs in 100 innings at an average of 30.20, playing 107 matches in the IPL since 2015. Meanwhile, eight fifties have come out of his bat. His strike rate in IPL is 147.59. Apart from batting, he has been seen wreaking havoc in bowling as well. He has achieved 50 successes in 70 innings at an average of 30.7.
While talking about Dhoni, he has played 234 matches in the IPL since 2008, scoring 4978 runs in 206 innings at an average of 39.19. He has 24 fifties in his name in IPL. His strike rate in the tournament is 135.2. Dhoni is one of the successful captains of IPL.
