Rituraj Gaikwad’s explosive batting
Chennai Super Kings scored 178 runs
New Delhi. The first match of the Indian Premier League 2023 is being played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Batting first after losing the toss in this exciting match, the CSK team scored 178 runs at the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated overs. To win this match, GT team will now have to score 179 runs in 20 overs.
Rituraj Gaikwad wreaked havoc:
In the very first match of IPL 2023, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad appeared in tremendous rhythm. Starting the innings, he faced a total of 50 balls. Meanwhile, 92 runs came out of his bat at a strike rate of 184.00. Gaikwad hit a total of four fours and nine sixes during his fine innings.

Other CSK batsmen flopped:
Barring Rituraj Gaikwad, other CSK batsmen were seen struggling in front of the Gujarat bowlers. The second highest scorer for the team was middle-order all-rounder Moeen Ali. He contributed 23 runs in 17 balls for the team. Apart from this, Shivav Dubey managed to score 19 and Ambati Rayudu 12 runs.
Shami, Khan and Joseph took 2-2 wickets:
Gujarat Titans got two successes each by Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan and Alzarri Joseph. Apart from this, Josh Little took one wicket.
