Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs on the back of an explosive half-century from captain Faf du Plessis and a fine performance by the bowlers led by Josh Hazlewood. With this, Bangalore’s team reached the second place in the points table. Bangalore’s team scored 181 for six, recovering from a poor start thanks to 96 runs by captain and opener Faf du Plessis. In response, the Lucknow team could only manage 163 runs for eight wickets in front of the sharp bowling of Josh Hazlewood (4 for 25). Harshal Patel took two for 47 while Glenn Maxwell took one wicket for 11 runs. Shahbaz Ahmed gave only 25 runs in four overs while bowling economical. Krunal Pandya scored 42 runs for Lucknow.
With this win, Bangalore’s team has 10 points from five wins in seven matches. Gujarat Titans also have 10 points but they are on top due to better run speed. Lucknow team has eight points from seven matches and is running in third place. The team of Lucknow has slipped to the fourth place. They have won four out of seven matches and lost three.
