IPL 2022: Teams can retain 4 players

New Delhi. An agreement has been reached on the players’ retention policy for the upcoming Indian Premier League auction (IPL 2022). There is every possibility that the current eight franchises will be allowed to retain a maximum of four players. One of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Rituraj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis or Dwayne Bravo can be retained by CSK for IPL 2022. Along with this, two new IPL teams can be allowed to choose 2 or 3 players outside the auction. (This includes foreign players, if no major Indian players are available) It is unlikely that RTM will be available in the auction.
Let us tell you that at present, an IPL franchise has a maximum purse of Rs 90 crore. That is, any franchise can spend a maximum of Rs 90 crore on players to make its team. In IPL 2022, this amount can be increased from 90 crores to 95 crores or 100 crores.
