In a video shared on YouTube by Haptik Told It has been learned that IRCTC’s Zoop has partnered with Haptik for food delivery service through WhatsApp in trains. In this, passengers will get the facility to order food from the restaurant of their choice while traveling in the train. For this, one has to connect to a chatbot on WhatsApp and after that the order can be placed by entering the PNR number.
The chatbot will confirm the journey details and passengers will have the option to choose the station at which they want to pick up the food. For this, payment can be made online and in cash. chatbot It will also help passengers to track orders and provide feedback in real time. Food will be delivered to passengers at their seats after the train arrives at the selected station.
Initially this service has been made available at more than 100 railway stations. These include Vijayawada, Vadodara, Kanpur and Warangal. There is a plan to increase the number of stations for this service. Catering service is already provided in trains by IRCTC. However, it has limited options. IRCTC had stopped the catering service during the Corona epidemic. After this the service was resumed with packaged food. Apart from ticket booking, the food delivery segment is a major source of revenue for IRCTC. In the last few years, the business of food delivery service in trains has increased. There are already some apps in this segment. However, the scope of their service is limited.
