new Delhi: When the T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka were announced, the BCCI made its intentions clear to a great extent. This time big names were hit. Along with vice-captain KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, who is often seen in the role of caretaker captain in ODIs, was also shown the way out. The board has already sacked the Chetan Sharma-led selection committee after their poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2022. In such a situation, it is now believed that the next number in this list is head coach Rahul Dravid (Rahul Dravid) belongs to.
Chetan Sharma is playing the role of caretaker selector of the Indian team only till the formation of the new selection committee. If reports are to be believed then BCCI has made up its mind to cut Rahul Dravid’s shoulder. The board is considering the theory of dividing the coaching of the Indian team into two parts. The top BCCI officials want a foreign coach to be given a chance in the T20 format while Dravid should complete his tenure as head coach in ODIs and Tests.
A BCCI official told Inside Sports website, “Nothing is final yet. We are exploring several options. Rahul (Dravid) is in our plan but there is a lot of workload on him. Our entire focus is currently on the World Cup to be held in India. The message is clear to all. We have to win the World Cup. That’s why our focus is not on T20 right now. Many types of discussions are going on at this time. For any kind of final decision, the Cricket Advisory Committee and the selectors will have to be involved in this and all these things are going to take a lot of time.
Please tell that the Cricket Advisory Committee is currently engaged in the process of appointing new selectors. In the past, there have been interviews of former cricketers who have applied continuously. Soon the name of the new selector and the entire panel can be announced.
