New Delhi: There are many such players in the world of cricket who perform for their country for years. So there are many who get very few chances to play for their country. The story of former England cricketer Joey Benjamin is also similar. Who played a lot of first class cricket but his international career ended early.
Benjamin made his international debut in the year 1994 at the age of 33. He played only 2 ODIs and 1 Test for England. He used to perform well in county cricket, due to which he got an opportunity to make his international Test debut. Playing his first Test against South Africa, he took 4 wickets for 42 runs in the first innings. At the same time, Benjamin did not get a single wicket in the second innings. After which he never appeared in England jersey.

Benjamin made his ODI debut in the year 1995 against Australia. After that he played the second and last ODI against Zimbabwe. He could only take 1 wicket in both the matches. Along with this, no runs came out of his bat. Perhaps this is the reason why his international career ended so soon.
Said goodbye to the world in 2021
Benjamin died of a heart attack in the year 2021 at the age of 60 after playing 3 matches in his entire international career.
