Dubai. T20 World Cup-2021 is now at its final stage. The final match of the tournament is to be played between Australia and New Zealand (AUS vs NZ). Before the match, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson dismissed the discussion of this ‘big final’. Williamson said on Saturday about the match against Australia in the T20 World Cup that it is like another match for him in which his focus will be on maintaining his good momentum.
The New Zealand team reached the finals of the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cups and won the first World Test Championship (WTC-2021). Williamson said on the eve of the match, ‘It is a reflection of a lot of hard work, but the final is just another match for us and we will again focus on the small things.’ New Zealand defeated England in the semi-finals and made it to the title match for the first time.
He said, ‘This team is doing well collectively and of course the players are giving each other’s full support. It is important for us that we try to learn regularly and we have seen it too. For this we will have one more chance. Despite the consistency in performance, New Zealand will go into the final as an ‘underdog’ and that doesn’t matter to the captain.
Williamson said, ‘It really means nothing to us. We focus on our game and try our best to keep improving as a team. We have no control over individual tags or anything like that. New Zealand has reached the final of the T20 World Cup for the first time while Australia made it to the title match of this global tournament for the second time.
