Kia Recalls More Than 30,000 Units Of Car’s MPV, Know Its Reason

South Korean automobile company Kia has recalled more than 30,000 units of its utility vehicle Carens. The company said that the reason for this is the need to update the software. Kia launched the Carens MPV last year. This is the second time that the company has recalled it.

Kia recalled over 4,000 units of Carens last year to fix a software issue. Carens are among the best selling models in India for the company. Kia sold 4,612 units of it last month. Earlier, a luxury variant of this was launched. It is available only on the automatic variants of both the petrol and diesel engine options.

Kia’s Seltos SUV sales have crossed five lakh units in India. The company says that it is the fastest SUV to achieve this sales figure in the country. It competes with SUVs like Hyundai’s Creta and Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara.

Kia manufactures it at its factory in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. It is also the most exported model of the company in overseas markets. The company has exported more than 1.35 lakh units of its indigenously made to many countries. Kia’s Managing Director and CEO in India, Tae-jin Park had told that Seltos sales stood at 27,159 units in the first quarter of the current year. The company has two electric vehicle models in the country. The company also announced an investment of around $22 billion to launch 14 electric vehicles in the international market. There are plans to launch some of these EVs in the country.
