Shock on the first test century in India
KL Rahul scored his first Test century in India in 2017 after establishing his bat on foreign soil. This century came during the Chennai Test match during England’s tour of India. The Indian team won the match by an innings and 75 runs. However, for KL it was no less than a shock than good news. After scoring a century, he was also moving forward for a double century in the same match but Adil Rashid got him out on a personal score of 199 runs. KL, who hit 16 fours and three sixes in his innings, missed just one run from scoring a double century.
Hit six half-centuries in 7 innings of the series
In the early part of his career, KL Rahul was scoring runs so fast that everyone started seeing him as the future captain. In the year 2017, the Australian team came on a tour of India. KL had already scored a century in Australia. KL, who was running in tremendous form, had hit six half-centuries in his seven innings of this four-match Test series. He scored 393 runs at an average of over 65 during this series. India named this series 2-1.
Dhak in IPL as well
In the year 2018, Punjab Kings bought KL Rahul by spending Rs 11 crore. In the same season, KL created history in the IPL by scoring a half-century off 14 balls. After this he became the captain of Punjab. Before IPL 2022, he joined the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants as captain.
KL Rahul going through a bad phase
The year 2022 was not particularly good for KL Rahul. He missed out on scoring runs in the T20 World Cup. The bat was not supporting in other formats as well. This is the reason that when 2023 started, he was removed from the post of vice-captain of the T20 team and was also discharged from the team. During the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played this year, he was also removed from the vice-captaincy of the Test. Later, he was also shown the way out of the playing XI.
