Former Indian opener and well-known cricket expert Wasim Jaffer believes that Umran Malik will not get a chance to play even in the second T20 against South Africa. India has to play the second T20 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Team India would like to return to the series through this match. The visiting team has taken a 1-0 lead in this 5-match series by winning the first T20 played in Delhi.
Talking about the playing XI of the second match, Wasim Jaffer said that it will not be right to change the playing XI after one match, due to which we will not see Umran Malik playing even today.
Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Jaffer said, “I think it would be unfair to change the team after one game and stick with the same team. Since it is a five-match series, there is always a chance of getting an opportunity later.” I don’t think we will see Umran Malik playing in this match. I don’t expect much change for the upcoming match.”
But Jaffer also believes that if Axar Patel does not complete his quota of overs, then the team can give place to Ravi Bishnoi in the playing XI.
Jaffer said “If Axar Patel doesn’t get him to bowl his full quota of overs and someone can replace him, it should be Ravi Bishnoi. He bowls fast and well to the left-handers. It could be a change.” .
Along with this, he also advised the Indian bowlers to improve the line and length. Jaffer said that India will have to improve its line and length in Cuttack. The ground at Cuttack is bigger than that of Delhi so, I hope the bowling units of both the teams will get some relief. I also think the pitch will be good for batting. Having a bigger ground will help the bowlers.”
