Kuldeep Yadav has taken 41 wickets in 24 matches in T20 Internationals.
Yuzvendra Chahal has taken 79 wickets in 62 T20 Internationals.
The pair of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav is popularly known as ‘Kulcha’.
New Delhi. Until recently, the pair of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav was very famous in the name of ‘Kulcha’ in white ball cricket for India. These two spinners were included in every playing XI of white ball cricket. However, now things have changed. Now fans rarely see this popular spin duo playing together. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has given his opinion on this issue. Manjrekar has explained why the management can no longer field this pair in a T20 match.
Sanjay Manjrekar told Sports 18 that he does not see Chahal and Yadav playing together. At least in T20 Internationals. He believes that Axar Patel will play with Chahal or it will be R Ashwin and Chahal. Manjrekar said that it is unlikely that Chahal and Yadav can be seen playing together. He said, “I don’t think the combination of Kuldeep and Chahal will play again for India. At least in T20 cricket where both Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have been playing together as two spinners.
Maybe play ‘kulcha’ together in 50 over cricket
He further said, “Either Axar will be Patel or Chahal or Ashwin or Chahal. If Chahal is unfit, he can play Kuldeep Yadav as a gamble in one of the games. I don’t see Chahal and Kuldeep playing together again. Maybe in 50-over cricket they will do that.”
Kuldeep could not return due to injury
Kuldeep Yadav did a great job for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). He took 21 wickets. In such a situation, Kuldeep was expected to return to the team in the white-ball series against South Africa. However, the spinner was ruled out of the series after suffering a hand injury during a practice session.

Ashwin masters the art of being economical
Manjrekar praised veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He said that he likes his bowling when he is playing with Chahal. He said, “I like Ashwin when he is with someone like Chahal. So, it is not on Ashwin to change the course of the match. You know the job of a spinner in T20 cricket is to get wickets in the middle order like Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj of South Africa.
He said, “At the same time, as a T20 spinner, there was a slight lack in Ashwin. He focused a lot on the economy, but when you have someone like Chahal, or some other wicket-taking wrist spinner, Ashwin becomes a complement. Because Ashwin has mastered the art of being economical in T20 cricket.”
