He told that Chahal had also helped him in going through his long rehabilitation process a few years ago. Kuldeep and Chahal have been a lethal combo for the Indian team over the years. Kuldeep revealed that he used to get very angry with Chahal, who advised him to focus only on his rehab and assured him that his comeback would be spectacular. Kuldeep Yadav said, “Whenever I was disappointed, I used to talk to Chahal the most from the Indian team. When I was injured and underwent surgery, I used to have mood swings. I used to get angry every 15 minutes and used to vent my anger on Chahal. He always advised me to focus on my rehab. And I will make a grand comeback very soon. It helped me a lot.

Kuldeep Yadav also spoke about how Ricky Ponting helped him boost his confidence after being picked by Delhi Capitals. He said, “When I was selected by Delhi, I remember Ricky called me and he made one thing clear. He told me that no matter how I bowl, I will play all 14 matches. This gave me a lot of confidence and I felt settled. He doesn’t care much whether I have taken wickets in the game or not. He just gives me advice on what areas I can hit as a bowler.
