The ICC T20 World Cup is to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman hosted by India as soon as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 ends. The matches of the T20 World Cup will be played from October 17, while India has to play its first match against Pakistan on October 24. Former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener has named three Indian cricketers on whom all eyes will be set during the T20 World Cup. Surprisingly, Indian captain Virat Kohli’s name is not included in this list of Klusener.
Lance Klusener has also given the names of these three players and has also given the reason why their performance will be important for the team. Responding to a question in The Times of India, Klusener said Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah would be the three players whose performance would be monitored. He said, ‘Rohit is always included in such a list, he is a player who gives tough competition. He performs brilliantly in major ICC tournaments. Rishabh Pant too, India are very lucky to have got a player like Rishabh Pant, who can replace Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is a fantastic player and he will have a very important role in the team.
He further said, ‘Jasprit Bumrah is always important in bowling. He can prove to be effective on any ground. Bumrah plays for Mumbai Indians team in IPL, Rishabh Pant captains Delhi Capitals and Rohit Sharma captains Mumbai Indians. The journey of IPL 2021 is over for all three and now the entire focus will be on the T20 World Cup.
