After all, why is the company repeatedly postponing the launch of the Hero Vida Electric scooter? Regarding the reason behind this, the company says that due to the shortage in the supply chain, scooter production is being affected, due to which its launch has been postponed. On the other hand, the launch of the scooter at the end of the year also indicates that the company may launch it in the coming festive season at the end of the year.
Talking about the delay in the launch of Hero Vida Electric Scooter, Swadesh Srivastava, Head of the company’s Emerging Mobility Business Unit (IMBU), said that we are committed to providing the highest quality products to our customers. Presently, due to the situation prevailing at the global level, there is a huge shortage in the supply chain. Therefore, there has been a shortage of many types of components including semiconductors. Due to this, the production of scooters is getting affected. We have postponed the launch till the end of the year so that the customers do not face such hassles at the time of delivery. However, no fixed date for the launch of Hero Vida Electric Scooter has been given by the company yet. It is quite possible that Hero may launch its electric scooter in mid-October-November when the year-end festival season is at its peak.
Hinting about this, Srivastava said that keeping customers at the forefront, it would be a more sensible decision to launch the scooter in the coming festival season instead of the date we had fixed for the scooter launch earlier in July.
Hero Vida Electric Scooter was introduced by the company in March this year. The company had given several trademark applications for Vida in November last year itself. Currently there is a huge demand for electric scooters. But, the companies are currently facing a huge shortage in supply. That’s why the company thought it better to postpone its launch.
This latest e-scooter from Hero MotoCorp is being produced at the company’s green manufacturing plant in Chittoor, India. According to some information about its features that has been revealed so far, Hero Vida Electric Scooter can see alloy wheels in the front and rear, in which the front wheel will be 12 inches and the rear wheel will be 10 inches. Hub mounted motor can be seen in it, which means that it can be equipped with mid-ship mounted electric motor in which belt drive can be seen. It is being said about its price that it can be launched for around Rs 1.5 lakh.
