IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Tom Moody has said that his team is playing very good cricket in IPL 2022 despite suffering a 21-run loss to Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday. Hyderabad has failed in three consecutive matches with this defeat and due to this, they have reached the sixth place in the points table.
No problem even after three defeats
Moody said, ‘If we were playing poorly, I would have been worried, but we are playing very good cricket. Had some things been right, we could have chased the target. Everyone saw how close we were to the target, when Nicholas Pooran scored 62 runs in 34 balls. Moody was hopeful that Hyderabad would come back strongly to make it to the playoffs.
“We have a lot of positives to come back and believe that we can turn defeat into victory very quickly,” he said. We are focused more on doing better. We can improve by keeping the good things going.
was defeated against Delhi
Chasing a mammoth target of 208 runs, Hyderabad lost by 21 runs, Pooran and Aiden Markram combined to score 104 while the rest of the batsmen combined to add only 71 runs. Moody dismissed ideas that captain Kane Williamson could be dropped due to poor form. Against Delhi, Williamson scored just four runs in 11 balls before being dismissed by Enrique Nortje. Moody also informed about the injuries to off-spinner Washington Sundar and fast bowler T Natarajan.
“Washington will be reviewed with a view to whether he can be available for our next match,” he said. However, Natarajan is likely to play for our next match in Pune on 14th. Hyderabad’s next match will be against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday and Moody wants his team to improve better in the weak departments.
