LPL big announcement from sri lanka Cricket Board Third season of Lanka Premier League will be held from July 31


Sri Lanka Cricket said on Friday that the third season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be held from July 31 to August 21. The tournament will be played at Sri Lanka’s R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and Mahindra Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.

Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium will host the opening matches of the 5-team LPL, while the subsequent matches of the tournament will be played at the Mahindra Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium.

Shammi Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket, said, “We are extremely pleased to announce the third season of the Lanka Premier League, which has made a good start towards establishing a groundbreaking tournament in the global T20 league competitions.”

A total of 24 matches will be played in the tournament, while the registration of international players for the player draft of the ‘Lanka Premier League’ will start soon.

In December last year, Jaffna Kings became the champions of the Lanka Premier League 2021 season after beating Galle Gladiators by 23 runs in a high-scoring final at the Mahinda Rajapakse International Stadium in Hambantota.
