MI vs CSK IPL 2022 Stephen Fleming statement on DRS controversy will win your heart

Devon Conway was not able to use the DRS due to a power cut during the match played between Chennai SuperKings and Mumbai Indians, due to which there is a lot of controversy. It is quite shocking to have such an incident in a big tournament like Indian Premiere League. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming termed the lack of DRS facility at the start of their innings as unfortunate, saying that some decisions during the match against Mumbai Indians weighed heavily on the team.

Due to a short circuit at the Wankhede Stadium, DRS facility was not available till the first 10 balls of Chennai’s innings, which hurt the team as some decisions went against it in the meantime. CSK’s in-form batsman Devon Conway was unable to reverse the lbw decision against him while replays showed Daniel Sams’s delivery was coming off the leg-stump. Robin Uthappa was also given out lbw in the next over of Jasprit Bumrah and even then there was a possibility of the batsman surviving.

Fleming said after the match, ‘It was a little unfortunate that this happened at that time. We were a little disappointed, but that’s also part of the game. At that time some decisions did not go in our favor. It was definitely not a good start for us. CSK’s chances of reaching the playoffs also ended with a five-wicket loss at the hands of Mumbai Indians. Fleming, however, wants to look at the positives.

Fleming said, ‘There have been some really positive things for us. Mukesh (Chowdhary) and Simarjit (Singh) bowled brilliantly with the new ball. So, with the return of Deepak Chahar, we will have some good options to bowl with the new ball. “We didn’t play as well as we should have,” he said. Now that we are out of the tournament, we can try other players in the remaining two matches.
