LiveHindustan’s accordingMG is all set to launch a new electric car in India in the first half of next year, which will be a 3 meter mini convertible electric car. Recently, an EV from MG was spotted road-testing in India. It is believed that the upcoming electric car is the same model. The report has claimed that the price of this electric car will be between Rs 10-15 lakh. In this price range, the car will take on the Tata Nexon EV, which is currently the best selling electric car in the country.
This car can reportedly be launched in the Indian market anytime in the first half of next year.
MG has already been launching Wuling based cars in India and the upcoming car is also said to be based on the Air EV, which is also called the E230. It was also launched in Indonesia this year. However, it has been claimed in the report that according to the Indian condition, the company will bring this model with some changes. It has also been told that the battery pack of this car will be prepared according to the local conditions.
The wheelbase of the MG mini electric car will reportedly be 2010 mm. Its Indonesian model gets 12-inch steel wheels, but in India the EV could come with alloy wheels. Also, unlike the global model, the wheel is mounted on the tailgate.
The report further claims that the upcoming car may get a 20kWh to 25kWh battery pack, which will enable the car to run for 150 km on a single charge. Large touchscreen, digital instrument console, connected car technology, wireless connectivity etc. will be provided in this electric car.
