Mohammed Shami breaks KKR’s back, completes ‘century’ in IPL 2023, second bowler to do so

New Delhi. Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets on Saturday and again reached number one in the points table. After winning the toss, Gujarat did not allow Kolkata to go beyond 179 runs and came out to bowl first. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs of his quota. In response, Hardik’s team achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in the 18th over.

Mohammed Shami broke the back of KKR’s batting order by dismissing Jagdishan Narayan, Shardul Thakur and Andre Russell. Shami bowled 12 balls in his 4 overs on which the batsmen could not score runs. With this, Shami has become the second bowler to have bowled 100 dot balls in IPL 2023.

Mohammed Shami has taken 13 wickets in 8 matches of IPL 2023. The fast bowler, who played a total of 101 matches in the league, has 112 wickets in his name. Talking about the match, Rahmatullah Gurbaj played a stormy innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. He scored 81 runs in 39 balls. Andre Russell also showed his hand in the last over and scored 34 runs in 19 balls hitting 3 sixes. Kolkata made a score of 179 losing 7 wickets in the stipulated overs.
