new Delhi. IPL 2022 has started from 26th March. The league is not hit by Corona like last season, so this time the BCCI is conducting the tournament in four stadiums of only two cities. Out of this, three venues are in Mumbai and one in Pune. This time, after getting the approval of the Maharashtra government at the beginning of the IPL, 25 percent of the spectators have been allowed in the stadium. However, soon the number of spectators in the stadium may increase further. Because the situation regarding Corona in the country has become much better than before. A day earlier, there were 1259 new cases of corona in the country. While 35 people died. Which is much less than the second and third wave of Corona.
According to media reports, the BCCI can soon allow 70 percent of the spectators to come to the stadium in the remaining matches of the IPL. Soon a formal announcement can be made in this regard from the Indian Cricket Board. For this reason, booking of tickets for all the matches has not even been started.
If this happens then it will be good news for the fans. Because for the last two seasons, the fans are not able to enjoy the IPL sitting in the stadium. In 2020, the entire IPL took place in the UAE. Whereas last year the first leg was held in India. After this, the second phase took place in UAE after cases of corona infection were reported in different teams.
If BCCI allows more spectators to come to the stadium, then fans will get a chance to watch their superstar players sit in the stadium and play. Meanwhile, if we look at the first four matches in IPL 2022, a trend is being seen. The team winning the toss is in advantage.
In the 4 matches so far, the captains who have won the toss have not hesitated to bowl first. Because the effect of dew is visible at night. Punjab Kings had won in one match while RCB chasing 205 runs. Now it has to be seen whether this trend continues as the season progresses.
