After making a clean sweep of New Zealand in the ODI series in 3 matches, India has to play in the T20 series of the same number of matches from 27 January. In the T20 format, the BCCI has made up its mind to give ample opportunities to the youth and for this reason, not one or two but 8 new players are going to be seen in the team. In this, some have experience of playing for India before, while many players are waiting for their debut.

Rituraj Gaikwad, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Mavi, Prithvi Shaw, Mukesh Kumar are named in the team selected for T20 against New Zealand. Out of this, Mukesh Kumar and Jitesh Sharma are still waiting for their debut in this format.
