Mumbai Indians unlikely to retain star batsman ahead of mega auction for IPL 2022 – Latest Cricket News

The eight old franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will announce the retained players on November 30. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya will no longer play for Mumbai Indians in the next season of IPL but can play for some other franchise. It is believed that Mumbai Indians will no longer retain Hardik and Krunal. According to the report of Cricbuzz, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya can be seen playing from the new IPL team Ahmedabad. Both the brothers are in touch with the Ahmedabad franchise. Mumbai Indians can retain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard in IPL 2022. Apart from him, the name of Ishan Kishan is also included in the retained players. With Gujarati connections and huge fan base in the state, the Ahmedabad team management may add him to their team in 2022.

Hardik and Krunal have done exceptionally well for Mumbai Indians for quite some time now. However, the performance of both in the last season has been disappointing. Hardik scored a total of 127 runs in matches in the 14th season of the league. He hasn’t even been bowling in the IPL for the last two seasons. Hardik has so far scored 1476 runs in 92 matches in the IPL with the help of four half-centuries and has also taken 42 wickets. At the same time, Krunal Pandya scored 143 runs in 13 matches in the last season. He has scored 1143 runs in 84 matches so far in IPL and has also taken 51 wickets.
