Despite all this, Jemima did not give up and during this time she also tried her hand at hockey.
According to the report, Jemima represented the Uncle Kitchen United team in the Wellington Catholic Gymkhana Rink Tournament held in Mumbai. After the World Cup, Jemima returned to the Indian team for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka. After this, she was also seen playing in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where India won the silver medal.
Jemima had a candid conversation with former Indian team coach WV Raman on a talk show on Wednesday. During this he answered many questions. ‘I was not Jemima even while living at home’
Jemima Rodrigues said, ‘In those days, especially at the beginning of the year when I was dropped from the team, I got a lot of support from my family. I think I could not do anything without them. I was going through a difficult phase when I was not selected in the ODI World Cup team. At that time I was not Jemima inside the house and they knew very well. I was trying to be a fake Jemima for him. I was trying to be happy at home. Cricket is something that I like the most. It was my dream to play in the World Cup but it could not happen. For some weeks I could not sleep at home. I used to have nightmares and I used to sit up suddenly in the middle of the night.
This is how Jemima Rodrigues came out of bad times
During this, Jemima told how it helped her to get out of this bad phase. Jemima said that when I started talking about this with my family, it helped me to get out of this bad phase. According to Jemima, ‘I remember well that day when I was sitting with my mom and dad and all three of us were trying to keep each other happy. I was completely broken. Then I told my dad that I think I should take a break from cricket for a few days. Hearing this, my father also started crying, while my dad never cries. He never wants to see me going through bad times. After this my mother was also very broken. We all started crying. I think this was the beginning of getting out of the bad phase. I took a break for some time and spent that time with the family.
