NCA coach will go with Laxman on the tour of Ireland, Team India has to play 2 T20


New Delhi. NCA coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule and Munish Bali will be part of the Indian cricket team’s support staff for a brief tour of Ireland later this month. It will be led by former veteran VVS Laxman. Kotak has been a part of the Indian A team in the past as well. He will be the batting coach, while Bali and Bahule have been given the responsibility of fielding and bowling coach respectively. Both of them were part of the Indian Under-19 team’s World Cup campaign in the West Indies earlier this year. NCA chief Laxman will be the head coach of the Indian team on the Ireland tour. On this tour (India vs Ireland), the Indian team has to play 2 T20 matches on 26 and 28 June.

Head coach Rahul Dravid along with other senior support members will leave for England with the Test team later this week. The trio of Bali, Kotak and Bahule have already joined the team playing the ongoing T20 International series against South Africa. A BCCI official told PTI, “Bali, Kotak and Bahule will take over the responsibility of the national team during the last two matches of the ongoing T20 International against South Africa (Rajkot and Bengaluru) after the senior associate members leave for the tour of England.” .’

Team not yet announced

He said that he is already in the limited overs team and will be ready for his role when the senior support members go to England. The squad for the Ireland series is yet to be announced, but this brief tour will coincide with India’s tour of England. The Indian team is leading 2-1 in the Test series against England and the 5th match of the series will be held from July 1. Before this match, the team will play a warm-up match against Leicestershire from June 24 to 27.
