New Delhi. The teams of Pakistan and New Zealand (PAK vs NZ) are now ready to do two hands in the ODI series after the T20 series. The 5-match T20 series was drawn 2-2. One match of the series was abandoned due to rain. The ODI series is very important for both the teams in view of the preparations for the upcoming World Cup. The Kiwi team made a spectacular comeback after trailing 0-2 in the T20 series and managed to draw the series.

The first ODI of the 5-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played in Rawalpindi on Thursday (April 27), while the second ODI will also be played at the same venue on Saturday (April 29). The remaining three ODIs of the series will be played in Karachi on 3rd, 5th and 7th May respectively. The ICC ODI World Cup is to be held in India this year. Both the teams will test their preparations here before the World Cup to be held in October-November. All the matches of the series will be played from 4:00 pm Indian time.

Pakistan will land with full strength
The Pakistan team is going into this series with full strength while the New Zealand team will not have many players. Many star players of the Kiwi team are currently playing in the IPL in India. Pacers Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult, Tim Seifert, Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner are currently playing IPL in India. The Kiwi team has won 16 out of 24 matches in the Cricket World Cup Super League, while Pakistan is at number five with 8 wins in 13 matches. From the year 2022, Pakistan has won 9 out of 12 ODIs while 3 out of 4 ODI series have been captured. The only ODI series that Pakistan has lost was against New Zealand this year by 1-2.

Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam will do it, while the command of the Kiwi team is in the hands of Tom Latham. In ODIs, both the teams have faced each other in 110 matches so far, where Pakistan has won 56 matches while the Kiwi team has won 50 matches. 3 matches remained inconclusive and only one match was tied.
