No Mushfiqur for Pakistan T20Is as Bangladesh name young squad following poor World Cup – Latest Cricket News

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday announced its 16-man squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. The team’s star wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been rested from this series while Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar and Rubel Hossain have been dropped. Akbar Ali has also been included in the team as a wicketkeeper in place of Rahim.

At the same time, all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Saifuddin Jahan are not available for team selection due to injury. Apart from them, Najmul Hossain Shanto and leg-spinner Aminul Islam along with new batsmen Saif Hassan, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, fast bowler Shohidul Islam and wicketkeeper Akbar have been selected in the team. The Pakistan team has to play a three-match T20 series on the Bangladesh tour from 19 November at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Bangladesh squad: Mahmudullah (Captain), Mehdi Hasan, Aminul Islam, Naeem Sheikh, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mustafizur Rahman, Shorful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Shamim Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Saif Hassan, Yasir Ali Chowdhury , Shohidul Islam, Akbar Ali.
