Interestingly, Shan Masood was the vice-captain of the team, but he was not given a place in the playing XI. Now Shahid Afridi has also raised questions on this issue. ‘We were not taken into confidence’

Afridi said, before giving big responsibility to Shan Masood in the ODI team, PCB should have taken Babar Azam or me into confidence. There was no such thing as Shan Masood being made the vice-captain in the team that I, along with Babar, selected for the ODI series against New Zealand. Speaking to Samaa TV, Afridi said, Shaan cannot be made captain or vice-captain of the Pakistan team on the basis of his performance for Derbyshire.

‘Team needs 2 captains’

Shahid Afridi also gave his opinion on the appointment of different captains in different formats for Pakistan. He said, I believe that Babar Azam has a lot of room for improvement in his captaincy. I am not in favor of 3 different captains. However, there can be one captain for Test and ODI team and a different captain for T20.
