Ola Electric scooters boom even after fire, became number-1 brand in April

The one that has grabbed the most headlines in the electric two wheeler segment of India is Ola Electric. The company strengthened the competition by launching e-scooters last year, but the incident of fire in its Ola S1 Pro scooter in March this year raised concerns. Similar incidents happened with many other companies as well, but Ola Electric remained in the headlines the most. The government set up an inquiry into the matter. Through all the good and bad experiences, Ola Electric has achieved great success. Ola Electric has become the No.1 e-scooter company in the country. The Bangalore based company has created this record in just 5 months of starting the sale of the electric scooter. It has left behind the country’s number-1 electric brand Hero Electric.

Media reports According to , Hero Electric has sold 34,714 electric scooters in the four months of this year. In this way he is at the forefront. Whereas, Ola Electric has sold 26,817 units by the end of April 2022. But just looking at the April figures, Ola sold 12683 units while Hero Electric sold 6570 units last month. Thus, in the month of April, Ola Electric became the number-1 electric scooter brand in the country. It is believed that this gap may continue in the coming months as well.

The most popular electric scooter of the company is Ola S1 Pro. Coming in 10 color options, the two wheeler gets an 8.5kWh battery and comes with three ride modes which include Normal, Sports and Hyper mode. The top speed of this electric scooter is 115 kilometers per hour. It reaches the speed of 0 to 40km/h in just 3 seconds.

In a single full charge, the scooter can go up to a range of 181 km. Apart from hill hold control, cruise control, remote start and stop, modern features like lock-unlock have been given in Ola S1 Pro. Disc brake system has been given in the front and rear wheels. There is also 36 liters of storage space under the seat.
