Ola S1 Electric Scooter Launched, Running 141km in Single Charge, 500km Range Car to Knock in 2024

Ola Electric has introduced Ola S1 in the Indian market on Monday. This is the second electric scooter of the company. The scooter was first announced by the company last year and is a more affordable version of the Ola S1 Pro. The battery capacity of Ola S1 is 3KWh and its top speed is 95kmph. According to the company, the ARAI range of this scooter is 141km km and 101km normal range. In a virtual event on Tuesday, the company also announced that it will launch its first electric car in 2024. According to Ola, the first electric four-wheeler will accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 4 seconds and have a range of over 500 km. It will have a glass roof and will also support vehicle assisted driving and will have keyless and handle-less doors.

Ola S1 price and availability

Talking about the price, the price of Ola S1 in India has been fixed at Rs 99,999, which is the starting price including FAME II subsidy, in which the state government subsidy has been excluded. Talking about the color options, it is available in Coral Glam, Jet Black, Liquid Silver, Neo Mint and Porcelain White color options.

Booking for Ola S1 has started from today at Rs 499. Customers availing the Early Access offer will be able to make the final payment on 1st September. Talking about the availability, the sale of Ola S1 will start from 2nd September and the deliveries will start from 7th September. According to Ola, customers can also buy the scooter at an initial EMI of Rs 2,999 along with loan processing fee waiver.

Specifications of Ola S1

Talking about the battery, a 3KWh lithium-ion battery has been given in the Ola S1 scooter. Talking about speed, this scooter can provide a top speed of 95kmph. Cruise mode and reverse mode are available in this scooter. The Ola S1 is the second electric two-wheeler from the company to be introduced in the Indian market, the first one coming last year. Talking about the range, this scooter can provide an ARAI certified range of 141km, while the true range is 101km on Normal mode, 128km on Eco mode and 90km on Sports mode.

Safety features have been provided with the new Ola S1 Anti Theft Alert System and Geo Fencing. The scooter will be equipped with a battery pack that is flame retardant as well as water and dust resistant. The Ola S1 has front and rear disc brakes. Apart from this, there is a ‘Hill Hold’ feature which makes riding and navigating in traffic easier. Talking about the suspension, it is equipped with rear mono-shock suspension and front single fork suspension. On the software front, the Ola S1 runs on MoveOS 2 which offers navigation, music playback, companion app and reverse mode.
