He played a brilliant inning of 110 runs in 152 balls. He could score only 20 runs in the first innings against Bangladesh. Now his father has revealed that Shubman Gill scored a century in the second innings after his scolding.
Shubman Gill’s father Lakhwinder Singh said during a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, ‘In the first innings, he was caught in a bid to take a single. I was angry with his wrong shot. When I talked to him, I told him what was the need to play such a shot at that time. Then Shubman told me that I would score well in the second innings. He said and he also fulfilled. When I see the highlights, I see his shortcomings. After that during practice I ask him to work on it.
Gill’s father wants to see him play in the World Cup
It is the dream of every cricketer to play in the World Cup. But only a few players get this chance. Gill’s father said that he wants his son to play the World Cup one day. He has advised Shubman to score runs at a higher strike rate so that the selectors look at him.

There are many such players in the Indian team who have struggled a lot in their initial phase. Similar is the story of Gill. Shubman’s father told that he had made Shubman Gill practice in the fields of the village. He used to bowl only by putting a mat in the field. Due to which Gill’s front foot improved and he also started playing pull shots.
