Pakistan’s fast bowlers took four wickets in the second innings of Bangladesh for 39 runs on the third day of the first cricket Test, which has now leveled the match. Earlier, with the help of seven wickets from spinner Taijul Islam, Bangladesh took a lead of 44 runs by bowling Pakistan out for 286 runs. The hosts now have a lead of 83 runs but they have only six wickets left. Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 91 runs in the first innings, is playing 12 and Yasir Ali is playing eight runs.
Despite falling behind in the first innings, Pakistan made a comeback on the strength of their fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali. Afridi took two wickets in the third over to first get Shadman out lbw and two balls later caught Najmul Hossain at first slip. On the other hand, opener Saif Hassan returned by giving him a return catch. Ali sent off Captain Mominul Haque without opening the account. Earlier, Taijul destroyed the Pakistani batting order.
Pakistan started playing ahead of 145 runs for no loss. Opener Abid Ali scored 133 runs in 282 balls, which included 12 fours and two sixes. In the very first over, Taijul dismissed Abdullah Shafiq and Azhar Ali for two consecutive deliveries. Captain Babar Azam was sent to the pavilion by Mehidi Hasan.
