Sri Lankan team crushed by 4 wickets
New Delhi. The first Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka (Pak vs SL) was played at Galle Stadium. Pakistan won the first test by 4 wickets. Saud Shakeel of Pakistan had scored an excellent double century in the first innings of this match. On the other hand, the hard work of Sri Lanka’s Dhananjay de Silva also went in vain. He had hit 122 runs in 214 balls.
Talking about the entire match, after winning the toss, Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne decided to bat first. Opener batsman Nishan Madhushanka and Karunaratne could not do anything special. Then Kusal Mendis scored 12 and Angelo Mathews scored 64 runs. With the help of Dhananjay de Silva’s century, Sri Lanka scored 312 runs in the first innings.
Batting in the first innings, Pakistan scored 461 runs. For Pakistan, Saud Shakeel scored a double century and Salman Ali Agha scored an inning of 83 runs. Players like Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq were flops. In the second inning, Sri Lanka scored 279 runs with the help of Dhananjaya de Silva’s 82 runs. Now Pakistan needed only 131 runs to win. Which he made only at the loss of 6 wickets. Imam-ul-Haq scored 50 for Pakistan in the second innings.
Pakistani bowlers also performed brilliantly in this match. In the second inning, Shaheen Afridi took 2, Abrar Ahmed took 3, Noman Ali took 3 and Salman Ali Agha took 2 wickets. Whereas Naseem Shah did not get a single wicket. The second Test between the two teams will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo from July 24. If the Pakistan team wins the next Test, then that series will be named after it.
