Pakistan has announced its 12-man squad for the first Test against Bangladesh starting Friday. The first Test of the two-match Test series between the two teams will be played at the Zahoor Ahmed Cricket Stadium in Chittagong. The command of the team is in the hands of Babar Azam while Mohammad Rizwan will take over the responsibility of the wicketkeeper as well as the vice-captain.
Apart from them players like Abdullah Shafiq, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Sajid Khan have also been selected in the team. Pakistan recently made a 3-0 clean sweep over Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series and will now look to make a winning start in the Test series as well. The fourth Test between the two teams will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
Earlier, Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the first Test of the Test series. Shakib suffered a hamstring injury during the T20 World Cup and has not recovered from it yet. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) head selector Minhajul Abedin has said that Shakib may take time to recover and in such a situation, Shakib could be out of the entire Test series against Pakistan.
