Pakistan captain Babar rules out Malik return for T20 World Cup

Will Shoaib Malik return to Pakistan cricket team for T20 World Cup 2022? Captain Babar Azam has given a blunt answer to this. Babar said that the team needs to give more chances to the young cricketers. This reply of Babar Azam indicates that the doors of the Pakistani cricket team are now closed for senior players. Shoaib Malik played his last T20 International against Bangladesh last year, but after that he impressed a lot with his performance in the domestic T20 league.

Along with the local media, some former Pakistan cricketers also believe that Shoaib Malik should be selected in the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year. When Babar Azam was asked about this, he said, ‘If the matches are to be played immediately after the Netherlands tour, it is difficult to make any changes in the team. When senior players leave the team, those who replace them need to focus.

Babar added, “Mohammed Hafeez and Shoaib Malik have been big names and we miss them too, but Asif Ali, Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed have to fill their places. We want to give them a chance to play as many matches as possible, so that they get confidence and all these players do well on the field.
