After winning the fourth ODI against New Zealand on Friday, Pakistan has secured the number one spot in the ICC ODI rankings. Babar Azam scored a century in this match. He played a brilliant inning of 107 runs in 117 balls hitting 10 fours. This was the 18th century of his career. Babar is the second batsman to score the most ODI centuries for Pakistan. The record of most centuries is in the name of Saeed Anwar, who scored 20 centuries. PCB chairman Najam Sethi congratulated the Pakistan team, captain Babar Azam and the coaches for securing the number one spot in the ICC ODI rankings. He especially praised Babur.
‘Vice-captain not needed’
At the same time, former captain Shahid Afridi has said that PCB should declare Babar Azam as captain till 2023 world to end the captaincy issue.
