The ongoing Russia-Ukraine War is affecting many countries, especially Ukraine’s border countries, one of which is Poland. Poland shares its border with both Ukraine and Russia. Recently, tensions flared up after a missile fired near the Poland-Ukraine border killed two people.
The effect of this incident is that Poland’s national football team flew to Qatar to participate in the World Cup and along with their airplane, the government also sent two F16 fighter jets. A video of this was also shared by the official Twitter account of the Poland national football team. A plane carrying Polish players was reportedly safely escorted outside the country’s border by an F16 jet.
In addition, the Twitter account of the Poland national football team also shared some pictures of the fighter jets and wrote (translated) “We were escorted by F16 planes to the southern border of Poland! Thanks and best wishes to the pilots!”
