Hyderabad scored 182 runs batting first

New Delhi. Lucknow Super Giants registered a thrilling win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 58th match of IPL on the basis of Prerak Mankad’s half-century and Nicholas Pooran’s flamboyant innings. Chasing the target of 183 runs set by Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants scored 185 runs for 3 wickets in 19.2 overs. With this win, Lucknow Super Giants have returned to the top 4. Lucknow Super Giants have 13 points in 12 matches and have moved from fifth to fourth in the points table.
Chasing the target, Lucknow Super Giants did not have a good start and lost the wicket of opener Kyle Myers on a total score of 12 runs. Myers was able to score 2 runs off 14 balls. Quinton Dickock returned to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs. After this, Prerak Mankad and Marcus Stoinis shared a 73-run partnership for the third wicket to bring the score to 127. The rest of the work was done by Nicholas Pooran. Puran scored an unbeaten 44 off 13 balls. Together with Mankad, he snatched victory from the jaws of Hyderabad by sharing an unbroken partnership of 58 runs in 23 balls.
Klaasen and Samad added 58 runs
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 182 runs for 6 wickets on the basis of a 40-ball 58-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Heinrich Klaasen (47) and Abdul Samad (37 not out). Klaasen hit three fours and as many sixes in his 29-ball innings, while Samad hit one four and four sixes in his 25-ball innings. Anmolpreet Singh (36 off 27 balls), skipper Aiden Markram (28 off 20 balls) and Rahul Tripathi (20 off 13 balls) failed to convert good starts into big innings.

Krunal took 2 wickets
Captain Krunal Pandya took two wickets for 24 runs in four overs for Lucknow Supergiants. He took wickets in consecutive balls in the 13th over. Yudhveer Singh, Avesh Khan, Yash Thakur and Amit Mishra got one success each. Yudhveer gave the first success to the team in the third over of the match by getting Abhishek Sharma (seven runs in five balls) caught by wicketkeeper Quinton Dickock.
Rahul Tripathi welcomes Avesh with all fours
In the next over, Tripathi hit two fours against captain Krunal Pandya. He welcomed Avesh Khan with two consecutive fours in the fifth over. In the same over, opener Anmolpreet Singh also hit two fours to take the team’s score past 50. In the next over, Tripathi was caught behind the wicket by Yash Thakur’s bouncer. Markram hit a six against Amit Mishra in the ninth over but the experienced leg-spinner took a brilliant catch of Anmolpreet off his own ball in the same over.
Samad took Hyderabad’s score beyond 150 with sixes.
Klaasen opened the account of fours. He hit a four and a six against Ravi Bishnoi in the 12th over. In the next over, Krunal gave double success to Lucknow by running Markram and Glenn Phillips (zero) on consecutive balls. Abdul Samad hit a six against Thakur in the 14th over, while Klaasen sent Mishra’s consecutive balls to the visitors in the 16th over. Samad hit a six against Krunal in the next over to take the team’s score past 150. Avesh got the South African batsman caught out in the 19th over after hitting a six from Samad and a four from Klaasen. Yash Thakur spent only nine runs even after hitting a six from Samad in the last over.
