Rahul batted at a strike rate of 233 and did not spare any CSK bowler. Earlier, after losing the toss, the poor performance of Chennai’s batsmen continued in the second match as well and Faf du Plessis’s brilliant innings of 76 runs helped the team to put 134 runs on the score board. In the bowling, Arshdeep Singh and Chris Jordan took two wickets each for Punjab.
KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal gave a stormy start to the Punjab Kings team chasing the target of 135 runs. Together they added 46 runs for the first wicket in 4.3 overs. After this, Sarfaraz Khan, who landed on the crease, could not even open his account and became the second victim of Shardul in the same over. Shahrukh Khan also walked after putting a six. Adam Markram played with captain Rahul for some time, but he was also sent to the pavilion by Shardul. KL Rahul, who was at the other end, did not have any effect of falling wickets from one side and he continued the rain of fours and sixes and gave the team victory in just 13 overs. Rahul remained unbeaten on 98 off 42 balls and led the team to victory with a six.
After losing the toss to bat first, Chennai Super Kings’ team had a very poor start and in the fourth over, Rituraj Gaikwad made 12 runs off Arshdeep Singh’s ball.
