New Delhi. Legendary Rahul Dravid has been made the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. The upcoming series against New Zealand (IND vs NZ) will be India’s first series under Dravid’s guidance after being made the regular coach. The Kiwi team will tour India where they will play 3 T20 and 2 Test matches. Rahul Dravid was already playing a role in preparing the youth. He was also the first India-A coach and the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Rahul Dravid, who has played more than 500 international matches in his career, now has an important responsibility. It will be interesting to see how Team India performs under his guidance.
Rahul communicates better with the youth and there are many examples of this. Now that he was made the head coach, he personally interacted with all the players and assured them that a chance will be given in the upcoming series. The BCCI on Friday announced India’s squad for the two-Test series. According to sources, Dravid had a one to one conversation with the players i.e. called everyone and talked to everyone privately.
According to sources, Dravid called each player individually and asked them about their mental and physical fitness status. Not only this, Dravid also said that if he is not feeling fit and if necessary take rest. During the conversation with everyone, Dravid also assured him of getting his place in the Indian team. He said that whether young players perform well or senior players do better, every player will be given a chance. Also had a brief conversation about what he is expecting from himself and every player of the Indian cricket team.
Talking about Dravid’s career, he has played 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and 1 T20 International in his career. He has scored a total of 13288 runs in Tests with the help of 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries. He scored 12 centuries and 83 half-centuries in ODIs and scored a total of 10889 runs. In his first class career, he has 23794 runs in his name.
