Rain dampens England’s hopes, Kangaroos retain Ashes, first draw in ‘Baseball’ era

The pair of captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum started the game of ‘Bazball’ in Test matches. For the first time in the Baseball Era, the England team had a Test draw. Australia has taken an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series while now only one match is left to be played. England would have kept the Ashes only if they had won the series. Australia scored 214 for 5 wickets in the second innings on Saturday and was 61 runs behind hosts England on the basis of the first innings. Even on Saturday i.e. on the fourth day also only 30 overs could be played due to rain. (AP)
