Ranji Trophy 2022: Devdutt Padikkal’s first century, Ishant and Cheteshwar Pujara fail

With the help of his century, Karnataka scored 293 for 3 against Puducherry on the first day of Ranji Trophy Group-C match (Ranji Trophy 2022). When sent to bat first, Karnataka lost 2 wickets for 39 runs. Openers R Samarth (11) and Karun Nair (6) were dismissed cheaply. Asith Rajiv took both the wickets. On the other hand, captain Abhimanyu Easwaran’s 114 and Anustup Majumdar’s 95 helped Bengal maintain their upper hand by scoring 329 for 6 against Chandigarh on the first day of Group B match. Bengal need just three points to make it to the knockouts. Chirag Jani’s 140 runs and Sheldon Jackson’s unbeaten 96 helped Saurashtra make 343 for 7 against Goa on the first day of Group D match. Chirag hit 22 fours and 2 sixes in his innings of 190 balls.
