Bangalore. Yashasvi Jaiswal is only 20 years old, but he knows how to make a strong comeback. He did so for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League last month and performed brilliantly for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy knockouts this month. After scoring a century in the quarter-finals, Jaiswal scored two centuries in the semi-finals. He was on his way to his fourth century of the season against Madhya Pradesh in the final. But on the first day of the Ranji Trophy final, Madhya Pradesh fast bowler Anubhav Agarwal dismissed him for 78 runs. At the end of the first day’s play, Mumbai scored 248 for 5 wickets. The match is still tied.
Yashasvi Jaiswal said after the first day’s play, ‘Yes, I am a little sad about myself, but this is cricket. You have to experience both the good and the bad. This is what I have learned so far. He said that in cricket things do not happen the way you want. But I am trying my best to improve myself in cricket and as a human being. Jaiswal was dropped from the first few matches during the IPL, but he made a comeback in the Royals’ playing XI in the second half of the tournament and played some brilliant innings.
It’s fun to face pressure
Yashasvi said that the same thing happened in IPL. He said that only hard work pays off during bad times. The left-handed batsman said that he is confident of doing well under pressure conditions. Jaiswal said that the final is different, because your mindset is different. People close to me have told me so many things because they want me to perform well. Of course they create pressure. To be honest, I am happy to face this pressure, I enjoy it.
He said that I come down with the mindset that I will do this. I believe and believe in myself that whenever I go to the crease, I will do well. It is known that Mumbai has won the Ranji Trophy title 41 times. At the same time, MP is still waiting for the first title.
