4 match Test series between India and Australia from February 9
Former coach Shastri predicted on Border Gavaskar Trophy

New Delhi. The much talked about Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is just about to begin. On 9th February i.e. on Thursday of this week, both the teams will face each other in the first Test match in Nagpur. On the result of the 4-match series, the hope of the Indian team’s final in the ICC Test Championship rests. Before the start of this explosive series, Team India’s former coach Ravi Shastri has predicted its result.

Talking to Star Sports, Ravi Shastri said, “As far as the result of this series is concerned, I think the Indian cricket team will go here with full confidence of winning. Team India should win the series by a margin of at least two matches. You are playing at home, you have bowlers for that. There is more than one batsman in your team. I believe that you should keep pressure on Australia from the very first match.

The Indian team went to Australia under the coaching of Ravi Shastri and defeated Australia twice in the Test series. Achieving historic success on the 2018-19 tour, the team won under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. After this, Ajinkya Rahane, who returned after playing the first Test, took the command of the team in place of Kohli, gave the team victory in 2020-21.

WTC Final Equation

If the Indian team has to make a place in the final, then they will have to win at least 3 matches in the 4-match series. Three wins in the series means that the Indian team will directly make it to the finals. They don’t need to worry about other teams. If India wins 2 matches as Ravi Shastri said then everything will depend on the performance of Sri Lanka and South Africa team.
