Ravi Shastri is happy with Umran who bowled at 150 kmph, says no doubt will play for India

Sunrisers Hyderabad had to face defeat in the very first match of the 15th season of IPL. Rajasthan Royals beat Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad by 61 runs. However, despite Hyderabad’s defeat, former Team India coach Ravi Shastri was impressed with the pace and attitude of fast bowler Umran Malik on Tuesday. Having said that the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer will play for India at the earliest. Shastri’s statement came after Umran’s brilliant bowling spell against Rajasthan Royals.

Before the IPL 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained Umran Malik by surprise. In IPL 2021, Malik impressed everyone with his bowling. He was retained along with captain Kane Williamson and all-rounder Abdul Samad for Rs 4 crore.

Umran proved to be very expensive in his first over of IPL 2022. Rajasthan batsmen scored a total of 19 runs. But in his very next over, he showed Jos Buttler the way to the pavilion. Umran dismissed Padikal with his own speed.

Ravi Shastri told Star Sports, “He is consistently doing well and I like his attitude. This child can only learn. This guy’s got real pace, if he hits in the right places, he’s going to trouble a lot of batsmen. It’s about handling him properly. You give him the right message. The way you interact with him will be very important. There is no doubt that he has potential. This is an Indian player.”

“When he is ready, time will tell but the conversation part is extremely important. He should be handled carefully and kept around so that he doesn’t go out of bounds,” he added.
