In terms of wickets, this is the second best economy among the top 10 bowlers of IPL. Only Sunil Narine is below Ashwin in the economy but the Indian off-spinner has taken more wickets than the West Indies player.

Apart from Ashwin and Sunil Narine (624.1 overs), only Piyush Chawla (603.4 overs) has bowled more than 600 overs in IPL. Ashwin’s Rajasthan Royals and Naren’s Kolkata Knight Riders team have failed to make it to the IPL playoffs.
